Hailing originally from Washington state, Los Angeles-based abstract artist Tyson Estes began his art career at age three, with a tube of lipstick and a pristine wall. He has continued exploring destruction and creation ever since.
In Estes pieces, the primary focus is in the beauty of degradation; the personality that emerges when a perfect thing becomes remarkable with age, wounds, and scars. His pieces represent a practice in the wisdom of letting go and allowing nature to exercise her whim; of collaboration with the Divine. This is witnessed through the unique processes of organic decay that Estes has developed; which he first initiates, then captures in time, with acrylic, canvas, wood, metal, wax, acid, and paper.
Tyson Estes’ works have been exhibited in Los Angeles, Dubai, New York, Washington, and more.
